Data Engineer Salary in Los Angeles

Data Engineer Job Description

Data engineers are responsible for the extraction and transfer of big data. They create pipelines for big data within organizations, then improve and present it to scientists and team members for improved understanding. They are responsible for creating and building large-scale data processing systems and databases. Once deployed, these engineers maintain and test the systems for proper functioning.

Data engineers work with data that is unformatted, and that may contain errors and system-specific code. They use Python, Hadoop, SQL and other similar technologies. They are responsible for implementing systems that improve the reliability, efficiency and quality of the data systems, and ensure that they meet the needs of the organization's data extraction needs. Data engineers work closely with data experts and analytics to improve information mining and maximize individual data systems.
