Ellie Mae Inc seeks a Sr. Engineer, Performance in Pleasanton, CA.

Responsible for ensuring the end to end 'application to infrastructure' application performance and capacity of our market leading enterprise cloud solution. Ensure that the infrastructure and all systems running on it are highly available, responsive, and scalable meeting end-user's expectations. Identify areas for performance and scalability improvements as well as clearly identifying the ability for the current infrastructure/applications/services to scale with new business. Identify the needs for additional compute and storage capacity growth with the SaaS Operations organization. Responsible for performance and capacity monitoring/analysis of entire application/CPU/memory/network/storage utilization trends for all applications/services; develop models and make utilization and growth projections in the component areas of compute (CPU/memory), storage and network. Responsible for development and implementation of test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports infrastructure, system and application performance analysis; application, infrastructure, service bus, web services and system capacity analysis. Perform load and stress analysis of end to end application performance on production infrastructure and capacity planning of APIs & key subsystems. Escalate trending and projection data, together with recommendations for changes to the infrastructure. Analyze change proposals for technical and capacity impact to the system and infrastructure architecture. Create tools, dashboards, and performance test plans. Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks, optimizations and highlight performance opportunities for improvements. Construct complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks. Innovate solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness. Play a key role in production incident analysis and troubleshooting; participate on a cross functional team involves reviewing early drafts of specifications and making meaningful contributions. Work closely with the cross functional teams to ensure adequate/maximum performance coverage/effectiveness.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Requires 5 years of experience in debugging, monitoring, and optimization. 5 years of experience with AppDynamics, Dynatrace, NewRelic, LoadRunner, WebLoad, and JMeter. 5 years of experience with application code instrumentation (.NET or Java) and database profiling. 5 years of experience with database fundamentals and architecture (MS SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB).
