As the Video BIOS Program Manager, you will have the opportunity to manage the work flows and delivery of firmware and BIOS solutions for innovative graphics products. As part of our cross-functional program management team, you will help shape the future of discrete graphics programs that require firmware Video BIOS solutions to fit their overall platform hardware and software.

This is a newly created position that will put focus on all aspects of the Video BIOS lifecycle, from pre-silicon planning and bring-up readiness to component builds, validation and eventual production release. There are requirements to deliver results in an effective manner, but also a multitude of opportunities to enhance the overall work flow and implement improvements for future products. The successful candidate must also constantly look for risks in the development path, make plans for addressing them, and look for prevention methods to save on engineering costs.

Strong technical program management of various development teams, influencing and monitoring the overall Graphics Video BIOS work flows, qualifying the resulting firmware/software deliverables, and forging strong partnerships with the Customer Engineering teams are a few of the things required to succeed in this newly defined position.

The ability to establish and drive to goals including plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance and quality will be critical to success. A passion for creating plans and working with a diverse team of development engineers, program managers and product managers is required for this highly visible role. Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement. You must address the various needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Firmware & Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Customer Engineering and Software PMO organizations. You must exhibit excellence in balancing the needs of the Customer's various platforms with Firmware Development and AMD's overall Software Stack. Strong documentation and communication skills will be called upon frequently, especially in delivering crisp, clear and concise information developers, functional managers and executives.

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, impeccable track record of delivering complex software programs, and experience with discrete graphics based systems and their respective software driver and firmware models. Working in the areas of graphics firmware, Video BIOS and its integration with System Firmware, platform hardware and graphics drivers are strongly desired. An prior design and development experience will be a strong asset to have.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

1. Minimum 7+ years of proven Project & Program Management experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Development or Engineering based organizations

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

3. Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience

4. Flexible working schedule to manage global program execution team (Asia and North America emphasis)

5. Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Bachelor Degree

6. Familiarity with the Semi-Conductor industry, especially the various functions of graphics firmware, driver software and platform hardware.

7. PMP certification is required

8. Agile development or Certification is a bonus

9. Familiarity with Perforce or other development tools is strongly desired.
