Job Description
Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. seeks a Lead Data Warehouse Engineer in Union, NJ to create overall technical solutions and design for Data Warehouse. Provide technical solutions, ETL design, development, and implementation of large scale multi-terabyte solutions and/or applications spanning Business, Financial, Operations, and other related areas of the company. Lead technical discussions, code reviews, solution documentation, team mentoring, and define the overall best practices as related to data integration. Define the overall ETL architecture including key designs on integration standards such as loading, real time/batch, CDC, data validation, and parallelization. Perform analysis and capacity planning to define 'best in class' solutions. Work with management to align solutions and data integration with business strategy and objectives. Apply broad in-depth business and technical knowledge advance technical direction. Lead technical discussions to impact solutions and data integration technology. Create complex technical solutions and design utilizing Ab Initio, Teradata and other technologies. Stay abreast of new ETL technologies, as well as new opportunities to develop team knowledge base. Utilize full life cycle experience in Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and Master Data Management. Understand the ETL/ELT and architectural principles of data integration and data warehousing.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of IT experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have five (5) years of experience in the following: Creating complex technical solutions and designs utilizing Ab Initio and Teradata; Full life cycle experience in software development, Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and Master Data Management; Performing data modeling and designing analytical systems including ETL and EDW; Application integration including Real Time, Data Streams, and XML; Utilizing Netezza and Unix for data mart and data integration development in a distributed environment; Utilizing MPP and SMP architectures, Shell Scripting, Unix, and ETL tools for large data volumes; and Applying knowledge of SQL, performance tuning, and test case analysis.
