Job Description

Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team to help drive the continuous evolution and expansion of our world-class mobile and web e-commerce platforms. Must be a collaborative engineer able to contribute directly to solution design/evaluation, implementation and ongoing maintenance. Our Customer Experience platform advanced greatly in 2018 and we seek someone who is excited by the opportunity to help us balance stability with velocity as we explode our feature set and market coverage in 2019 and beyond.

* Be a key technical contributor to projects that increase the availability, efficiency and performance of Foot Locker's e-commerce platform.
* Be able to take primary ownership of key components of our operations environment.
* Advocate infrastructure standards, frameworks and tools that enhance operational efficiency and team productivity.
* Partner with application development teams as a representative of the Platform Engineering team to support timely solution delivery.
* Work closely with other members of Platform Engineering, helping to increase productivity, collaboration and skill levels.
* Facilitate sharing of best practices and relevant innovations within Platform Engineering and its key partners.
* 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing, operating and maintaining infrastructure for high volume enterprise web applications.
* 2+ years of implementation and operations experience with production systems in public cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
* Hands-on experience with key technologies such as Python, node.js, NGINX, Linux, Oauth/SAML, MySQL and Docker in a production operations context.
* Hands-on experience with modern infrastructure best practices such as infrastructure-as-code, cross-region redundancy, container orchestration services, auto-scaling and SaaS monitoring/alerting solutions.
* Experience with CI/CD tools and implementing deployment automation.
* Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins and Git.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Energized by a DevOps culture and Site Reliability Engineering concepts.
