Novartis is actively seeking a Business Process Expert Data & Lab Systems professional to join our team in beautiful Carlsbad, California.

The role is also responsible for lifecycle management, driving continual improvements, and the management of change of the IT service, system and applications assigned.

This role also negotiates Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) with the service providers of underpinning IT services and ensures that the relevant resources are engaged and coordinated.

Focused on complex set of interrelated systems that support both internal and external customer base.

Your Responsibilities

* Develop project rationale and perform scoping assessments to determine feasibility of projects for assigned systems
* Train and support super-users and ensure they maintain proficiency of the systems for which they are serving in that role.
* Highlight/identify gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with stakeholders
* Develop comprehensive requirement specifications that will determine the estimate of cost, time and resources to deploy solutions
* Liaise with the service development teams to suggest a high level functional solution
* Develop project estimates and complete financial model (costs, savings, revenue opportunities, investment horizon, etc.)
* Ensure that relevant stakeholders are involved in specification of new services and/or major upgrades to existing services
* Ensure the overall user experience is taken into account when designing and deploying new solutions and services
* Ensure consistency and traceability between user requirements, functional specifications and testing & validation. Support validation and testing (OQ, PQ, UAT...)
* Ensure implemented solutions are according to specifications and fit for purpose.
* Keep abreast with internal IT systems and documentation requirements, standards (including quality management and IT security)
* Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Service Delivery scope
* Ensure SLAs are met for assigned IT services
* Provide a uniform approach to the way in which customer feedback is handled and resolve
* Participate in establishment of budgets and investment proposals
* Provide IT consulting to key stakeholders, educate them on IT processes and methodologies
* Identify and manage risks related to assigned IT services. Ensure audit and inspection readiness for their portfolio of systems and act as primary point of contact during audits and inspections
* Supports IT Capabilities supporting critical data systems and applications
* Manage team of up to five
* Manages a portfolio and provides strategy input for medium complexity systems
* Medium impact across the 6 change dimensions (process, organization, location, data, application, technology)
* Additional responsibilities as assigned
* Ensures adherence to quality standards as defined by the IT Organization
* Ability to manage small teams
