Amazon's planet-scale retail platform has created the largest marketplace in human history. The 2 million+ sellers on the Amazon platform help provide unprecedented product selection for our customers. Along with increasing the number of product offerings, every product on Amazon can also be sold by multiple sellers. Each seller has a listing or "offer" that may differ in Price, availability, ship speed, product, seller quality, product location etc. The offer that provides the best customer value: combining price, fulfillment and service expectations that customers care about is featured as the default offer for the product in the 'Buy Box'.

The Featured Merchant Algorithm team leverages sophisticated machine learning and big data technologies to decide which offer gets featured on the Buy Box. We run these computations billions of time every day for hundreds of millions of products and billions of offers. Based on the team's learning based on customer buying preferences, we drive business strategy and provide inputs into new programs and features that Amazon introduces.

We are looking for a Business Analyst who can dive deep in the customer shopping trends and draw insights into what customers are seeking in the offer placed in the Buy Box. These analyses and insights will feed into the business decisions that the FMA team uses to improve the customer's buying experience. Additionally, this role will have ample opportunities to present the data and insights to Business leadership ( Directors and VPs ) running various category businesses across Amazon. With 90%+ of sales coming from the Buy Box, your data insights may shape the future of Amazon Shopping impacting millions of customers!

Successful candidates will have experience maintaining business reports, working with large data sets, derive recommendations from analysis , write business documents that present these recommendations and a passion to dive into data to learn trends about the business. This is an opportunity to work with a team that drives one of the most coveted real estate in the E-commerce, the Amazon 'Buy Box' on Amazon Product Detail Page, Amazon Search Page , multiple buying widgets etc. on the Amazon desktop, mobile and tablet environments.
