We move fast, but we want to be moving at the speed of light in terms of releasing new features and eliminating tech debt. That's why we need a senior engineer on our team.
These are the types of problems that we're working on now:
- supporting different timezones
- designing the application architecture for modularity and scalability
- tracking our desktop application installations
- designing APIs for the desktop application and for other clients
- integrating payment processing
- improving our build/deployment process
Our big vision is to be a B2B marketplace for hotel rooms, so in the future the problems will be more interesting, e.g. real-time transactions, dealing with high load, etc. Today we service over 45% of all bay area hotels (250+ hotels in 33 cities around San Francisco). In the next few months we will be servicing airlines and Online Travel Agents as well.
