I started in on this idea about 2 years ago, beginning with hating Mint - the finance app. How could something that had such pure roots suck so bad? Then we started looking at other personal finance managers and budgeting apps and realized they all pretty much sucked. The biggest problem we had with them is they all were just repackaging a bank ledger and showing it to you, then setting dumb goals around money ("let's save more and spend less")
I looked for my team for a while, finally finding Mik, who I knew from CTO'ing previous startups that had solved hard problems, and coaxed him into building with me for a few months as we proved out the opportunity.
We fell in love with the idea that we could be a finance app for the non financial. At the top of our white board is "How do we build the non anxiety inducing app for money" and it's a worthwhile problem to solve.
A few months later we were joined by Karen, Bob, and Mike and now we're looking for you! Come help us build the future of how people interact with their money.
