Predictix and LogicBlox are two brands within a single company.

Predictix is a SaaS offering that provides analytics solutions to leading global retailers in the areas of planning, forecasting, replenishment, inventory optimization, markdown optimization, pricing, and supply chain optimization. We count 4 of the top 15 global retailers as customers. Predictix solutions are developed and led by published industry experts. The software is delivered by a cross-functional business and technical team, backed by an application support & ops team.

From a technology perspective, we sit at the intersection of cloud, analytics, and self-service. LogicBlox is a next-generation "smart" database platform that we have developed, and use as a foundation for our applications. We have expanded our notion of “database system” to include features and capabilities commonly found in programming languages, spread-sheets, statistical systems, and mathematical optimization systems. We like to use a smartphone analogy...it’s not the best in each area, but it’s close enough, and the whole is much greater than the parts.

LogicBlox unifies transactional (OLTP), analytical (OLAP), and graph database technologies, with machine learning and mathematical optimization. Gartner has coined the term Hybrid Transactional Analytical Processing (HTAP) for these types of databases, which are now emerging. LogicBlox was designed and built from the ground up to unify these technologies, and is not separate systems “glued” together under the hood. It is also natively designed to take advantage of cloud elasticity; we were an early AWS customer. The LogiQL query language is based on Datalog, a declarative logical language. (It is getting more attention recently due to investments by Google and other prominent start-ups.)
