The Practo Story

Practo started in dorm rooms when Shashank ND and Abhinav Lal during their final year of undergrad studies were working on a lot of different ideas to start a startup. At the same time Shashank was trying to get second opinion from a doctor in US for his dad's knee surgery. The whole experience was completely broken. The company was born to solve patients problem of having access to their own health data. Shashank and Abhinav knew having easy access to sharable health data can make the outcome of next treatment better and can help patients live healthier and longer. Shashank and Abhinav bootstrapped the company at shashank's parent empty house with BYOM (Bring your own mattress) policy for all the early members of team.

We offer a software-as-a-service platform Practo Ray that manages practices, organizing doctor schedules, collating patient notes, and handling payment. We also have a doctor discovery platform which allows finding the best doctor and booking an appointment which is free for patients and doctors alike. At Practo we are creating products that makes complete health experience better for you and your loved ones,

Practo Labs

Labs is the computer science and technology research organization at Practo based out of San Francisco. At Labs we take a hybrid approach at research. We write production ready code from day 1. This ensures the benefits for user is seen earlier and research is driven by real world data. We are working in the areas of data classification, Information Retrieval, Data Reconciliation, Information extraction, Machine Learning, Visual Processing and Natural Language Processing. As part of Labs team you get to work on building the core technology on which next generation of healthcare products will be built. It is going a small team where you get to take an idea from start to finish.

Growth & Culture at Practo

Practo is going through at hyper growth phase right now. We are launching in 100 new cities in india this year. We are expanding globally as well with plans to launch in 10+ countries this year. Our user base has grown more than 10x last year and our revenue has grown by 3x in the same timeframe.
