Founded in 1997, IAGTO rapidly established itself as the global trade organization of the golf tourism industry, and became the most pro-active, innovative and successful travel trade association in the world.

With 2700 company clients in 106 countries, our dual responsibilities are to deliver services to our members while representing the global industry, helping to position golf destinations around the world to better attract international golf travellers.

This global business is run by 12 full-time staff from its North London office with support from 14 international representatives. While IAGTO undertakes events and conventions on four continents, the founding principle of IAGTO’s business model is to deliver services to member companies without the need for costly human interaction, through the development of proprietary online platforms designed and developed by IAGTO’s software team.

For 22 years, IAGTO has put software development at the heart of the company, and the development team reports directly and only to the Founder & Chief Executive, Peter Walton. All projects are discussed and conceptualized by the CEO in discussion with the developers who are then given total autonomy to use the latest technology to build the best solution, enabling "Individual Contribution" to be maximized.

Uniquely for a small company, IAGTO allows plenty of time for development with some projects time-lined for 2-3 years. We invest time in up-front planning to avoid late-stage changing, leading to the creation of robust systems.
