    We started Imbue because we believe software that's as intelligent as humans will have a transformative impact on the world. We’re dedicated to making sure that impact is positive.

    Our team built our last company together, and we loved working together so much that we decided to do it again. Our values are think good, be kind, have fun, and grow together. We spend our Friday afternoons hanging out together, we share our feelings, and we energetically help each other grow. We're primarily motivated by a desire to understand how the universe works, and we don't believe in stupid questions.

    This is a high-trust environment with high expectations. We trust our teammates to have extraordinary agency, to be self-driven, and to make good judgment calls. We have a lot of independence and make our own decisions based on what we think is best for the company. This environment is not for everybody.

    We have enough funding to last for decades, and our backers include Y Combinator, researchers from OpenAI, Lightspeed, and many others.

    This is a research lab, not a factory. To have good ideas, you need to take some time off and get new inputs. We encourage people to take enough time off to continue working without being burnt out. We view work on the time scale of years and decades, not days and weeks.
