Comprehensive is a new startup founded by Roger Lee. Our mission is to empower companies to promote pay equity, fairness, and transparency in the workplace.
Roger’s previous startup, Human Interest, is a rapidly growing HR and personal finance software company currently valued at over $1B. While scaling the team at Human Interest, Roger noticed the acute need for tools to help make employee compensation fair, competitive, and consistent.
Today, employers on average pay men 5-20% more than equally-qualified women, and most estimates place the pay gap for ethnic + racial minorities in the same range. We are building software to set compensation in a structured and collaborative way, as opposed to an ad hoc process that lives inside siloed spreadsheets, in order to eliminate these pay gaps and improve the livelihoods of all team members.
From an HR standpoint, our software helps build trust in the comp planning process, motivate achievement in a transparent and meritocratic way, and reduce turnover – including what we have found to be the highly painful recruiting fees, onboarding time and cost, and morale impact of recurring attrition and rehiring.
