Why would you want to work for us?
First, there is the challenge itself, here is a little about the problem you'd be working on. Consider for a moment the apartment buildings and complexes of multiple buildings you lived in or seen. Ask yourself how you would model the physical building structure and infrastructure for that building which provides services to its residents at a fixed point in time. Each one is a unique snowflake when you need to model them on a genuinely detailed level. Next, add the element of time and the fact that they are not static things but things which have parts added, removed, and changed over time, assume that you need to know how things were at any given point in time in addition to how they are today. Also, add the need to capture, relate, and analyze many sources of streaming data from various parts of these buildings which represent the heartbeat and other vital signs from the systems, spaces, and occupants of these buildings. Now imagine needing to do this for dozens, hundreds, perhaps thousands of these living, breathing, complex, unique snowflakes. We think this is going to involve some really interesting modelling & polyglot persistence challenges along with data analytics on both static big data and streaming fast data. We're headed into a lot of green-field development and need the kind of people who can drive our team across the board in areas like design, technology selection, development process, and Ops.
Second, you'd be doing this in the context of doing something genuinely useful to society. Do you really want to work on the next pointless app that just represents someones attempt to make money off an IPO? Wouldn't you prefer to make a meaningful difference in the world while also tacking an interesting technical challenge? Our company was founded to address the problem of wasted resources in society, we're not just in business to be in business. You could be part of a team that actually cares about something and take pride in both the technical excellence of the thing you've made as well as the purpose it is used for.
