Adore Me is a disruptive e-commerce lingerie startup and the No. 2 fastest-growing company in NYC on the Inc. 500 list in 2015. Our story starts with our founder, Morgan Hermand-Waiche, who was an MBA student that needed to get his girlfriend a birthday gift. He’s French, so for some reason getting her lingerie for her birthday made sense. He goes online, looking for something that is high-quality and high-fashion on a budget, and fails miserably – anything he can afford is something her grandma would wear on a good day. He starts doing some research and learns that the US lingerie industry is dominated by Victoria’s Secret with over 50% market share; it’s launching only 3-4 collections a year; its prices are pretty steep for the quality they’re offering; and, the size range is extremely limited. So he’s thinking: if I’m facing these troubles shopping for lingerie for one hour online, women must be facing these issues all the time.
Adore Me was born with the vision to disrupt the $20B US lingerie industry to the core. We are primarily an e-commerce company, selling our products on our website and mobile app; we design everything in-house, with a former director of design from Victoria’s Secret leading the team; we’re fast-fashion – we launch a new collection every month with 30-40 new items; our prices are set to appeal to every wallet, with most sets at $39.95; and we’re inclusive – we go from petite to plus, 30A-46G.
In only five years, we managed to go from a guy who knew absolutely nothing about lingerie, to raising $11.5M of venture capital financing, having over 115 employees in the US and Europe, having a strong social presence with over 6M women in our network and more than 1M Facebook followers, and being one of the fastest growing companies in New York and the US!
