One would be hard-pressed to find an industry that doesn't require the expertise of a Data Analyst. With computers and statistical software programs, it is now possible to take vast amounts of data and put it to use to make better business decisions. This is not to say that the job of a Data Analyst is simple. Most employers require a minimum of a bachelor's degree, while the top in the field will usually have a master's degree or doctorate. The main roles of a Data Analyst include collecting data, sorting an analyzing the data and putting it in a format it can be understood and used. In some cases, the Data Analyst is also charged with making projections and advising others how to use the information to effect improvements within the company.
