User Experience (UX) Designers are professionals who design intuitive and easy-to-understand interfaces for consumer, government and corporate clients. UX Designers should have a clear understanding both of a target user’s needs and behaviors in a client’s business goals. Many UX Designers are proficient in prototyping tools like Axure, Sketch, InVision, Balsamiq and Framer. UX Designers with skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript are in particular demand. Some typical UX Designer responsibilities include translating abstract concepts into concrete user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes; researching, conceptualizing, prototyping and testing; and designing wireframes, user stories and journeys and mockups.
The demand for UX Designers is expected to rise in the coming years, as more and more companies implement and revise user interfaces for their products. Since UX Designers usually work within cross sectional teams along with researchers, product managers, marketers and other key business stakeholders, they require good interpersonal skills.
