QA Engineers are in a rewarding field that is in high demand across the country. These software engineers are employed to architect and implement best practices while maintaining company standards when it comes to the quality of a final product. In order to do this, QA Engineers must be able to design, install and modify automated functional load tests. This position works closely with the rest of the development staff, and as such excellent communication and documentation skills are a must.
QA Engineers must have a minimum of a four-year college degree in computer science or equivalent work experience. Many times, however, companies will also require a master level degree in a related field as well. Professional experience in industry-standard languages such as Java is also a base requirement. Many companies do the majority of their work in Linux, and as such QA Engineers should be very familiar with the system.
