Product Managers conduct market research to determine what products or services customers need. A multi-disciplinary role, they may be involved in product planning, design, strategy, pricing and release management. They work for a variety of industries such as medical equipment, automotive, entertainment, technology and financial services. Part of a team, they work in collaboration with product developers, designers, sales managers and stakeholders.
Many Product Managers in technical fields will have a background in engineering. Others might be more business oriented with skills in marketing, quality assurance, data analysis and general management.
